Identification of the mental foramen and the mental neurovascular bundle is a matter of great importance in diagnostics preceeding dental implant treatment. The objective of the research is the analysis of the methods of mental foramen localization. Its results indicate variations and anomalies in its location as well as in the mental nerve course. Cone‑Beam Computer Tomography seems to be the most reliable method, however false positive and false negative results are observed in some cases.
