Fraza do cytowania: Klimek E., Tuczyńska A. Root resorption revealed during orthodontic treatment – as a risk factor for orthodontic therapy – part one. Dental Forum. 2023;LI(2):53–55. DOI: https://doi.org/10.20883/df.2023.8.

Orthodontically induced inflammatory root resorption is an iatrogenic consequence of orthodontic treatment. The etiology is not fully understood. Risk factors for resorption include factors related to orthodontic treatment (including the magnitude of the applied force, duration of treatment, and the type of planned tooth movement), as well as patient-related factors. At the treatment plan stage, orthodontists should take all known measures to limit the occurrence of resorption.

Key words: root resorption, orthodontic forces, intrusion, torque.
