DOI: https://doi.org/10.20883/df.2023.9. Transposition is a disorder affecting two adjacent teeth located within the same dental quadrant. It most often affects the canine and the first premolar. Among transpositions, we can distinguish complete and incomplete transposition. The etiology of the disorder is not fully explained. Early diagnosis can prevent the development of transposition and is recommended between the ages of 6 and 8. In the presence of full permanent dentition, there are three methods of treating this disorder: extraction of one of the teeth affected by the disorder, leaving the teeth in their transposed positions along with leveling the dental arch, and orthodontic setting of the teeth in their correct
positions.
Key words: tooth transposition.
