Chlorine has been known since 1810. Due to high chemical activity, it occurs in nature only in a bound form. He found application in dentistry, in many chemical compounds necessary for conservative treatment, periodontology and dental surgery. The work presents, on the basis of data from the literature, selected chemicals commonly used in dental surgeries, containing chlorine, their properties and mode of action. The publication includes chlorhexidine, sodium hypochlorite, sodium chloride, articaine hydrochloride, and chloroform.
