Occlusal splints are often used in the treatment of patients with occlusal parafunctions, dysfunctions of the masticatory organ motion system, muscular disorders, orofacial pain, mallocclusions, snoring, sleep apnea syndrome as well as mouthguards for athletes. Usually they are removable appliances made of acrylic, thermoformable materials or resins, moulded to the upper or lower teeth arch, sometimes bimaxillary, working therapeutically or prophylactically on the stomatognathic system. A common occlusal appliance is the stabilization occlusal splint. It has numerous applications. The aim of the paper is to present a modified method for acrylic occlusal stabilization splint fabrication.

Key words: stabilization occlusal splint, temporo-mandibular disorders.
